Challenge:

An electric drive with minimum size and weight for a sailboat.

Solution:

Enmac implemented the dimensioning and design of the drive shafts and bearing. This was done on the basis of the finite lifespan theory in cooperation with the gear manufacturer. The casting frame of the unit was designed based on the designer’s sketch.

Result:

The life expectancy target designed for the sailboat’s drive was achieved, and the power transmission components were successfully fitted into a space with a very small cross-section.
