The customer needed a partner for the design of a part – Divertor Cassette Body – inside the fusion reactor chamber of the ITER project, the world’s first fusion reactor. The large stainless steel part belongs to a structure that minimises the amount of impurities in the fusion plasma and recovers some of the thermal energy of the plasma.
Enmac implemented the manufacturing design of the Divertor Cassette Body structure. In addition, Enmac designed the equipment needed in handling the structure, as well as the vacuum chamber needed during the testing phase.
The customer received the documented manufacturing plan compliant with the world’s strictest quality standards and quality management procedures for the DCB structure, assembly parts and vacuum chamber.
