Challenge:

The product has a single expensive stainless steel nozzle. The part is small and the geometry to be machined is complex

Solution:

Enmac redesigned the nozzle for 3D printing using the powder bed method. The most important design criteria were the surface quality of the nozzle and low manufacturing cost. Minimising post-processing and maximising dimensional accuracy were taken into account in the design.

Result:

Depending on the series size, the manufacturing cost of the 3D printed nozzle is 63–77% lower. The nozzle is compatible as a spare part.
